SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull
Salary: £89 - £105 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

If so, GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join schools across Hull.
About the role:
In this role, you will be working with students who require additional support in their learning, ensuring that they are able to engage with the curriculum and succeed in their education. We offer both day-to-day and long-term positions, allowing flexibility based on your availability.
SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist with adapting and implementing the curriculum to meet students' individual learning needs.
- Help students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Support students' engagement and participation in lessons, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to monitor and track students' progress.
- Encourage positive behaviour and assist with classroom management strategies.
- Assist in preparing learning materials and classroom activities.
- Provide pastoral care, offering guidance and encouragement to students.
- Support students in building independence and self-confidence in their learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar support role, particularly with SEN students.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential).
- A degree in Psychology, SEND, Counselling, Education or a similar field.
- A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to working with students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or the willingness to apply for a new check.
