As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with disabilities. Your work will help them feel valued, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential. Whether providing one-on-one assistance, supporting small groups, or helping students engage with their learning, you will be integral in fostering an inclusive and empowering environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Create an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment where every student feels valued.
- Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities, helping them stay
engaged and focused.
- Assist students with their academic work, ensuring they can reach their potential and stay on track.
- Encourage social and emotional development, helping students build confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to tailor support to meet individual student needs.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a calm, safe, and productive learning environment.
- Help with lesson preparation to ensure smooth daily operations and effective learning.
What You Need:
- Experience supporting students with disabilities.
- A compassionate, patient approach to working with students.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with teachers and students.
- The ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
- A current, up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years, with no unexplained gaps).
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
