Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive primary school setting in Rotherham. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in early childhood environments and are enthusiastic about helping young children develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

About the Role:

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS staff to deliver a rich, engaging learning experience for children in Nursery and Reception. You will help maintain a safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and thrive through purposeful play and structured activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging early years lessons and play-based learning.
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of children through positive interaction and encouragement.
  • Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Supporting children with toileting, feeding, and hygiene routines, where appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher to track children’s progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Promoting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and contributing to the overall development of children.
  • Encouraging children’s communication, language, and motor skills through carefully structured activities.
  • Communicating effectively with staff, parents, and carers to support the holistic development of pupils.

Job Requirements:

  • Must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential).
  • Prior experience working within an early years setting, preferably within a school.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development.
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach to learning.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from teaching staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when engaging with children and adults.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
