Full-Time English Teacher, Basingstoke – Hampshire

Are you a passionate English Teacher ready for a new challenge in a thriving secondary school environment?

If so, GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Basingstoke. This is a full-time position starting from Easter 2025 or September 2025, with a salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. A permanent contract is available after the successful completion of a probation period. The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan, prepare and assess students’ work to ensure excellent academic progress.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through collaboration and shared best practices.
  • Uphold high standards of teaching, behaviour, and safeguarding in line with school policies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A passion for English and the ability to motivate and inspire young minds.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Willingness to support students of varying abilities.
  • ECTs and overseas-trained teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
