Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), Southampton – Hampshire

GSL Education are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant secondary school in Southampton as a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, starting Immediately with a salary ranging from £21,000 to £25,000 per year (dependent on experience). Responsibilities:

  • Offer individualised and group support to SEN students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and meet their learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement customised support plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Promote student engagement, emotional well-being, and independence within and beyond the classroom.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and positive learning environment that helps build students' confidence and self-esteem.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of personalised learning activities and interventions to support academic growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
