Location: Winton
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join dedicated teams within schools in Winton. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting students with physical and/or learning disabilities in an educational setting.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with children or young people who require additional help due to physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or medical conditions. Your role will involve supporting students in accessing the curriculum, promoting social inclusion, and helping to manage daily activities and personal care, where needed.
What you have to do as a Disability Support Worker:
- Provide individual or small-group support to students with disabilities.
- Assist with mobility, personal care, and access to school facilities.
- Support learning in the classroom under the direction of the teacher or SENCO.
- Help promote independence and confidence in daily routines and schoolwork.
- Monitor progress and wellbeing, reporting concerns to relevant staff.
- Encourage participation in school activities and promote positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with school staff and parents/carers to implement tailored support plans.
Skills & Qualifications for Disability Support Worker:
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities in educational or care settings as a Disability Support Worker.
- A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Health & Social Care, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- A patient, understanding, and respectful attitude.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to individual needs.
- Strong communication skills and a team-based approach.
