Role Overview:
As Lead Practitioner for MFL, you will be instrumental in raising standards of teaching and learning across the department, coaching and supporting staff, and driving forward innovative approaches to language education. This is a key leadership role that blends classroom teaching with strategic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in one or more modern foreign languages (French and/or Spanish preferred)
- Lead and model outstanding practice within the MFL department and beyond
- Support curriculum development and contribute to school-wide teaching and learning strategies
- Mentor and coach teaching staff to ensure consistent high standards
- Analyse data and implement interventions to raise student achievement
- Inspire a love of languages and cultural awareness in students across the key stages
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong background in MFL teaching
- Proven experience of raising attainment and leading successful teaching initiatives
- Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills
- A passion for language education and global citizenship
- A commitment to inclusive practice and the school’s values
- Up-to-date safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
