Learning Support Assistant
Location: Wareham
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join schools in Wareham.
This role involves working closely with students who require additional support, helping them access the curriculum and develop key skills. You will collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing classroom experience.
Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist in the implementation of learning plans and classroom activities.
- Support students in developing confidence and independence in their learning.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive interactions.
- Adapt learning materials to meet students' abilities and learning styles.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure student progress.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field.
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential).
- A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
