Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)

Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Eastleigh. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to support students in both their academic journey and personal growth, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs, ensuring they feel confident, valued, and engaged in their learning. You will work closely with a specific pupil, providing one-on-one assistance tailored to their individual needs. Your support will help them access the curriculum, develop essential life skills, and build independence in a positive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with teachers to create a friendly and supportive classroom.
  • Help students with SEN learn and grow, building their confidence and skills.
  • Give extra support to students who need it, either one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Make sure every student feels safe, included, and valued.
  • Encourage students to take part in lessons and stay motivated.
  • Keep track of student progress and give feedback to help them improve.
  • Support students during break times, trips, and school activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to make learning fun and accessible for all.

We're Looking For:

  • School Experience: You have worked as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, supporting students in a school setting.
  • Passion for Helping: You care about supporting students with SEN and helping them succeed.
  • Great Teamwork: You communicate well with teachers, students, and other staff.
  • Flexible & Supportive: You can adapt your approach to meet different learning needs.
  • Ready to Start: You have a recent CV (covering the last 10 years with no gaps) and either an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service or are willing to apply for one.
