Job Title: Primary 1-1 Support
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract: Full-time (Permanent/Fixed Term), Part-time available for the right candidate
Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and caring Primary 1-1 Support to work with a child in a mainstream primary school in Southampton. If you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), this could be a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in a child's educational journey.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 support for a primary-aged child with SEN, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing tailored strategies to help the child engage with the curriculum.
- Promote the child’s social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence and independence.
- Work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to monitor and support the child's progress.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment where the child feels supported and encouraged.
- Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and share insights with the class teacher.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children’s learning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- A strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, colleagues and parents.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
