Job Title: Educational Support Worker

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Educational Support Worker in Bournemouth to provide tailored assistance to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. About the Role:

As an Educational Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting students who require additional learning support. Working within an inclusive and nurturing environment, you will support students both academically and emotionally, ensuring they have the best opportunities to thrive in their education.

Responsibilities of the Educational Support Worker:

  • Providing tailored one-on-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assisting in the implementation of personalised education plans (EHCPs).
  • Supporting students in developing essential life skills and fostering their independence.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and engagement effectively.
  • Adapting teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Offering emotional and pastoral support to students to build confidence and self-esteem.

What We’re Looking For: To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience working with students with SEN, learning difficulties, or additional needs.
  • A caring and patient nature with a passion for supporting learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • The ability to adapt and work flexibly in different educational settings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to provide a safe learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (desirable but not mandatory).

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
