Disability Support Worker
Location: Weymouth
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

If so, GSL Education are seeking a Disability Support Worker to work in schools across Weymouth, offering one-to-one and group support to students with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker, your role will be essential in promoting independence, confidence, and engagement in learning, ensuring every student has access to an inclusive and supportive environment. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists, you will play a key part in enhancing the educational experience of students with disabilities.
Your Responsibilities as a Disability Support Worker:
- Provide individual and group support to students with disabilities, adapting materials and tasks as needed.
- Assist with personal care and mobility where necessary.
- Support students in developing their social, communication, and life skills.
- Help create accessible learning environments that cater to diverse needs.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement individual learning plans.
- Monitor and record student progress, sharing updates with the relevant staff.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in classroom activities.
- Promote a safe and inclusive school environment for all learners.
Disability Support Worker Qualification:
- Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker, special educational needs (SEN), or in a care setting.
- A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
- Knowledge of adaptive learning techniques and assistive technologies (preferred but not essential).
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Health & Social care (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
