Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Poole
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a Behaviour Support Worker to join schools in Poole, providing tailored support to students who face behavioural challenges.
About the role:
This Behaviour Support Worker role is vital in helping students engage positively with learning, develop self-regulation strategies, and build confidence in both academic and social settings. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour management plans, create a structured learning environment, and foster resilience among students.
Behaviour Support Worker Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural needs.
- Assist in the implementation of positive behaviour management strategies.
- Support students in managing their emotions and developing coping mechanisms.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create individual behaviour plans.
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote positive social interactions and engagement with learning.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
What we need from a Behaviour Support Worker:
- Previous experience working with children with behavioural or emotional needs in an educational or care setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Health & Social care (preferred but not essential).
- A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
