Job Title: SEN learning support assistant 

Location: Braintree

Contract type: Full-time/ Long term

Salary scale: £85-£130 per day 

Start Date: Immediately 

 

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN learning support assistant to join the team in a secondary school based in Braintree. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in both classroom and extracurricular settings.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans to meet the individual needs of students.

  • Support students with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, reading, writing, and social skills development.

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and report on individual achievements.

  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to ensure a positive and safe learning experience.

  • Inspire students to reach their full potential.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a learning support role.

  • A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and helping them succeed.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.

  • Relevant experience working with children that have special educational needs. 

  • GCSE's grade C (pass) or above
