Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to join schools in Chesterfield.

As a Primary TA, you will assist in delivering engaging lessons and supporting children across primary key stages 1 and 2, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to reach their full potential. Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA) Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to teachers in the delivery of lessons for Primary Key Stages 1 and 2.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Work with small groups or individually to support students' learning and development.
  • Help prepare teaching resources, activities, and materials for the classroom.
  • Assist with the monitoring and tracking of students’ progress, providing feedback where appropriate.
  • Foster the personal and social development of children, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Support the teacher in ensuring a safe and well-organised classroom environment.

Requirements for Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • A degree in Early Years Education, Primary Education or a similar field,
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to support students across Primary Key Stages 1 and 2, with flexibility to adapt to different learning needs.
  • A patient and nurturing attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
