GSL Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Southampton. This full-time role offers a temp-to-perm pathway, with a permanent position available after the successful completion of a probation period.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in:
- Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour strategies in line with the school’s values of resilience, respect, and aspiration.
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support, helping students engage positively with their learning.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour – either in education or other relevant settings (e.g., youth work, social work, or residential care).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to manage situations with calmness and compassion.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
