SEN Learning Support
Location: Winchester
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking SEN Learning Supports to join schools across Winchester. In this role, you will provide vital support to students with SEN, assisting them with their learning and ensuring they feel confident, included, and valued in the classroom. Your involvement will help create an environment where students thrive academically and socially, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
Your Responsibilities as an SEN Learning Support (SEN LSA):
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver engaging lessons and help students access the curriculum.
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and foster social interaction within the classroom.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.
- Encourage students to build confidence and develop independent learning skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report findings to teaching staff.
- Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure effective support is provided.
Requirements for Learning Support- SEN:
- A degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related field is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role, working with students with special educational needs as a SEN Learning Support.
- A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Ability to motivate and engage students, encouraging their active participation in lessons.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
