SEN Learning Support

Location: Romsey
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

If so, GSL Education are looking for dedicated SEN Learning Supports to work in schools across Romsey.

About the role:

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their personal and academic goals. Your role as a SEN LSA will be to provide tailored assistance, ensuring each student has the resources and encouragement they need to succeed in a supportive and structured setting.

What you have to do as an SEN Learning Support (SEN LSA):

  • Support students with additional needs on a one-to-one or small group basis.
  • Assist in delivering engaging and structured lessons under the teacher’s guidance.
  • Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Encourage and promote positive behaviour within the classroom.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students with SEN.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Assist with mobility, personal care, and communication needs when necessary.

SEN Learning Support Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs as a SEN Learning Support (SEN LSA).
  • A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to support both students and staff.
  • A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to learning support.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage students to engage with their learning.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
