Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are delighted to be recruiting for a passionate and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in an SEN school located in Chandler’s Ford. About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and structured learning environment for children with a range of additional needs. You will help create an inclusive learning space where every student can thrive, no matter their challenges.
SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities:
- One-to-one and small group support, helping students engage with their learning and develop essential skills.
- Provide tailored academic and emotional support for students with SEN.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials.
- Support students with sensory processing difficulties and communication challenges.
- Help implement individual learning plans (ILPs) to meet student needs.
- Promote independent learning and confidence-building activities.
- Foster a calm, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Job Requirements:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, or a similar support role in a classroom or school setting, is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SLCN and SEMH needs, as well as strategies for supporting students with these conditions.
- Additional training in Moving and Handling, Team Teach, or Trauma-Informed Practice is advantageous but not essential.
- Be familiar with positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
