SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Barton, Lincolnshire
Daily Rate: £83.33 – £95.00
Availability: ASAP; Easter term 2025

- Experienced or aspiring to assist with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs for relevant pupils in an academic, vulnerable or care setting.
- Committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Skilled in building strong relationships with students to boost confidence and engagement.
- Able to provide tailored support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
- Works effectively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised learning plans.

Successful Candidate: Key Responsibilities
- Offer tailored one-on-one or small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Foster a secure, positive atmosphere that promotes confidence and resilience.
- Assist with implementing personalised education plans (EHCPs) to support individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Promote emotional well-being, self-regulation, and positive social interactions among pupils.
- Work in close coordination with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support student progress.
- Encourage students to develop independent learning strategies and problem-solving skills.
- Adapt approaches to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring equal learning opportunities for all.
Successful Candidate: Key Strengths
- Education: Minimum Grade 4 (C) in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or behavioural challenges is highly beneficial.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Safeguarding: A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and child protection regulations.
- Transport: Ideally, applicants should have reliable transport due to the school’s location.
- Right to Work: You must have full UK working rights as we do not offer sponsorship.
