Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant (TA) for a well-regarded school in Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to support students across various year groups, offering day-to-day or long-term assignments, with both full-time and part-time positions available.

About the role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be pivotal in supporting the class teacher to foster an engaging and nurturing learning environment. Your role will include working with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities:

  • Support students individually or in small groups to enhance their learning experience.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Create a positive classroom environment where all students feel safe and encouraged to participate.
  • Adapt to the needs of students with diverse learning requirements, offering tailored assistance.
  • Help maintain appropriate classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback and supporting assessment activities.
  • Assist with preparing classroom resources and materials for lessons.
  • Encourage emotional and social development by helping students build confidence.

Skills & Qualification for a Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience in a Teaching Assistant role or similar educational support position.
  • A relevant degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • A patient, approachable, and proactive attitude to supporting students.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a dynamic school team.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
