About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting students' educational journeys. You'll collaborate with teachers to deliver personalised one-on-one and dynamic group support, helping students excel in their subjects and develop practical skills. Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Collaborative Learning Plans: Partner with teachers to design personalised learning strategies that cater to each student's unique needs. Regularly assess and refine these plans to ensure they remain impactful and relevant.
  • Targeted Interventions: Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students enhance their knowledge and skills. Utilise evidence-based methods to aid children in grasping various concepts and practical applications.
  • Study Techniques and Engagement: Teach and reinforce effective study habits, guiding students to better understand and engage with their studies. Foster positive interactions and model appropriate behavior.
  • Inclusive Learning Environment: Work alongside classroom teachers to implement strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Assist in addressing learning challenges and nurturing a culture of respect and cooperation.
  • Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of students' progress and the interventions used. Share regular updates with teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to ensure a coordinated approach to each student's development.
  • Holistic Support: Collaborate with social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of children and their families, ensuring comprehensive support.

Requirements of a Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for supporting students in their educational journey.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding: Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
