Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Swanwick?

GSL Education are recruiting a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a wonderful school in Swanwick, Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity to support students across a variety of age groups and provide valuable support to teachers and students on a day-to-day or long-term basis, with full-time and part-time options available.

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play an integral role in assisting the class teacher in creating a positive learning environment. You will work closely with students, providing them with the support they need to thrive academically and socially. You will also support students on a one-to-one basis, and work with small groups, helping them overcome any barriers to learning they may face.

What you have to do as a Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, assisting them with their learning needs.
  • Help the class teacher deliver lessons effectively, ensuring students engage with the content.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment for students.
  • Provide support for students with different learning needs, ensuring tailored support for each individual.
  • Assist with behaviour management, ensuring students follow school rules and guidelines.
  • Track and monitor students’ academic progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  • Help with the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Support students with their emotional and social development, helping them grow in confidence and self-esteem.

What we need from a Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting students in their learning and development.
  • A willingness to work flexibly as part of a team and contribute positively to the classroom environment.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
