Location: Hedge End
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking for a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a wonderful school in Hedge End, Hampshire. This role offers both day-to-day and long-term contracts with flexible full-time or part-time hours.As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a key role in supporting the academic and personal development of students, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.

Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, assisting with learning activities and tasks.
  • Support the teacher with lesson preparation, ensuring students have the resources and support needed.
  • Foster a safe and engaging learning environment for students, encouraging positive learning behaviours.
  • Support children with various learning needs, helping to create an inclusive environment.
  • Help monitor and track student progress to ensure they are on target with their learning objectives.
  • Assist with behaviour management, ensuring students are following school rules and engaging appropriately.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure effective classroom management and student support.
  • Provide feedback to students and staff about progress and areas for improvement.

Requirements for a Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable personality, with a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
  • Ability to support children, adapting to individual learning needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
