Location: Totton
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact on students’ learning and development?
GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in Totton, Hampshire. This role offers flexibility, with both day-to-day and long-term contracts available, as well as full-time or part-time hours.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside the teaching staff to support students in their learning, fostering an environment where all children feel encouraged and motivated to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide support to students in classroom settings, assisting with individual or group work.
- Help students with a range of learning needs, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
- Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and ensuring resources are ready for each lesson.
- Offer support to students who need help with their emotional, social, and educational development.
- Promote positive behaviour management and assist with any behavioural challenges that arise.
- Work alongside the teacher and other staff to track and support student progress.
- Help create a nurturing and safe learning environment for all students.
TA Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
- Teaching Assistant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent qualifications.
- A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
- A patient, proactive, and adaptable personality to work effectively with children of different abilities.
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students.
- Ability to assist with general classroom management and support students with a variety of needs.
- A passion for helping students succeed in their learning journey.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
