We have an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our dedicated team at a welcoming SEN school in Romsey!
About the Role:
As SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in Romsey, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Develop and Implement Education Plans: Assist in creating and executing individualised education plans tailored for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide Targeted Support: Offer one-on-one and small group assistance to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the attention they need.
- Monitor and Assess Progress: Track student progress, provide feedback to teachers, and adjust support strategies as necessary to meet student needs.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a unified approach to student development.
- Foster an Inclusive Environment: Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports all students.
- Engage and Motivate Students: Utilise a variety of teaching methods to keep students engaged and motivated.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of student progress and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements for an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
- Trust and Rapport: Ability to build trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
- Commitment: A deep commitment to supporting students with SEN.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) education are preferred.
To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
