Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm
Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and have experience working as a Teaching Assistant?
If so, GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive school in Tower Hamlets. This is a long-term, full-time role, and you will be responsible for providing 1:1 and general classroom support to children with SEN. You will play a key role in assisting children in their learning journey, particularly those with high support needs.

Special Needs TA Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Provide general classroom support to ensure an inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and setting up resources.
- Help manage behavioural needs, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment.
- Foster a nurturing environment to support students' emotional and social development.
- Support students with personal care needs, including helping with feeding and moving around the school if required.
- Work closely with SENCo and other professionals to ensure tailored support is provided.
- Monitor and track student progress and assist with assessment where required.
- Support students in building confidence and improving their engagement in lessons.
Requirements of Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Previous school-based experience as a Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Experience in supporting students with SEN, particularly those with high support needs.
- 1:1 support experience with children is highly desirable.
- A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
- Strong behaviour management skills to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Child-centred approach to supporting students' educational and emotional needs.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
