SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hayling Island
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

If so, GSL Education has the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently recruiting enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work within schools in Hayling Island. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome challenges, develop essential skills, and build confidence. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored support and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for all learners.
This role offers flexibility, with both day-to-day and long-term placements available. Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time work, we would love to hear from you.
As a Special Educational Needs TA, your responsibilities will be:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering personalised lessons and activities.
- Support students’ social and emotional development through positive interactions.
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track progress.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs when necessary.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment.
SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Requirements:
- Prior experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, education or a similar field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
