SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Gosport
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools in Gosport.
As a SEN TA, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students with additional needs, ensuring they feel valued and empowered to learn. Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Your dedication will enable students to develop confidence and achieve academic progress.

SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and help track student progress.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote social interaction within the classroom.
- Support students with personal care and mobility needs, if required.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, support staff, and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student progress to the teaching team.
Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance).
- A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) or in a similar support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A patient and compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
