SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

Key Responsibilities of Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored support to students with special educational needs.
- Work one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce learning and promote independence.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide consistent support to meet individual learning goals.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters academic and personal growth.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers and support staff as required.
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes students’ well-being.
- Support students with personal care and mobility needs if required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student development.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance).
- A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A caring and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
