Supply Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £125 – £165 per day
Contract Type: Supply, Flexible

GSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join us as a Supply Teacher in the York area. This role offers the opportunity to work within dynamic classroom environments while enjoying the flexibility that supply teaching provides.

About the Role as a Supply Teacher:
We are seeking adaptable and dedicated General Supply Teachers to provide short-term and long-term cover across a variety of subjects. This role is ideal for teachers who enjoy working in diverse classroom settings and are committed to maintaining high standards of education in the absence of permanent staff.

Key Responsibilities as a Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring student engagement and learning continuity.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Support students with their learning, providing guidance and encouragement.
  • Adapt to different subject areas and year groups as required.

As the ideal Supply Teacher, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or the willingness to apply for one.
  • Previous experience teaching in secondary schools in the last 2 years.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to varying teaching environments.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of supply teaching.

Please note this role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must undergo all necessary safer recruitment checks, including holding an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
