As a General Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and supported in their learning. You will have the opportunity to teach in diverse school environments, developing your skills while maintaining a positive and well-structured learning atmosphere. This role offers the freedom to work flexibly, allowing you to balance teaching commitments with personal priorities.
Key responsibilities of Supply Teacher:
- Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects, ensuring continuity in students’ learning.
- Adapt teaching styles and methods to meet the needs of different classrooms and year groups.
- Maintain strong classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.
- Follow school policies and lesson plans, ensuring students remain on track with the curriculum.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, encouraging progress and academic development.
- Support school leadership and colleagues, contributing to the wider school community.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding protocols and school behaviour management policies.
The successful candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) equivalent experience (or strong subject knowledge for unqualified teachers).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different teaching environments.
- Previous experience working in a classroom setting, ideally in a secondary school.
- Ability to engage and manage students positively and effectively.
- Uni students are encouraged to apply.
- Flexibility and adaptability to teach across different subjects and age groups.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
