SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
Start Date: Easter 2025
Salary: £83.33 - £95.00 per day
Contract Type: Full-time
Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you looking for a role that offers flexibility while allowing you to make a real difference? GSL Education is currently seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within primary and secondary settings in Scunthorpe.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting children and young adults with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Collaborating with teachers, family members, and school leaders to develop and implement individualised learning and support plans.
- Managing challenging behaviour within the classroom, using effective de-escalation techniques.
- Assisting with the use of specialist equipment and resources to support students' learning and development.
Role Requirements:
- A qualification in Health and Social Care, or a relevant field (Level 3 Diploma or equivalent).
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational or care setting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students.
- Compassionate, caring, and committed to helping young people overcome their challenges.
- A DBS registered to the update service, or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
