Humanities Teacher - Fareham, Hampshire
Can you inspire a love for history, geography, and social studies?
GSL Education are searching for an engaging and versatile full-time Humanities Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Fareham. This exciting role starts from Easter 2025 or September 2025 and offers a competitive salary between £30k to £50k per year, depending on experience. A permanent contract is available following a successful probation period, making this an excellent long-term opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Teach engaging and comprehensive Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Develop students’ understanding of history, geography, and social studies, fostering a love for these subjects.
- Plan and deliver lessons in line with the school’s curriculum, incorporating creative and diverse teaching methods.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Create an inclusive and motivating classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development of the Humanities curriculum.
- Attend and participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent consultations.
- Always ensure the well-being and safeguarding of students in line with school policies.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Humanities and the ability to inspire students with a passion for the subject.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
- Experience teaching Humanities to secondary school students, with the ability to differentiate for a range of abilities.
- A commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
