Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Waterlooville
Rate: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic SEN Learning Support professionals to join a supportive SEN school in Waterlooville. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the academic and personal development of students who require additional support.
As an SEN Learning Support, you will assist in delivering tailored educational programs to students with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers to create a supportive learning environment, adapt lesson plans to meet individual needs, and use a variety of strategies to engage and motivate students. You will collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and inclusive educational experience for all students.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Learning Support
- Support the creation and execution of personalised education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet students' unique needs and objectives.
- Utilise a variety of teaching techniques, such as hands-on activities, digital tools, and interactive discussions, to accommodate diverse learning styles and maintain student engagement.
- Continuously evaluate student progress, offering timely and constructive feedback to foster improvement and academic success.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to learn.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to exchange effective strategies, develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities, and ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
- Offer targeted assistance to students facing challenges, guiding them towards overcoming obstacles and reaching their full academic and personal potential.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student progress, attendance, and behaviour, ensuring accurate documentation of achievements and areas requiring further support.
Requirements of SEN Learning Support
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with students with special educational needs.
- Understanding of the national curriculum and strategies for supporting students with special education needs.
- Ability to employ a range of teaching strategies that engage and inspire students, making complex concepts accessible and interesting.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive relationships and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to their academic and personal development.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
