Location: Bovington
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join schools in Bovington.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with individuals who have physical, learning, or sensory disabilities, helping them to build confidence, develop skills, and enhance their quality of life.

What you have to do as a Disability Support Worker:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting independence and personal development.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, mobility support, and communication assistance.
  • Implement tailored support plans and strategies to meet individual needs and preferences.
  • Encourage participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to senior staff members.
  • Support the emotional well-being of individuals by building positive and trusting relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
  • Monitor and track progress, adapting support strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.

What we need from a Disability Support Worker:

  • Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, Care Assistant, or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
  • A compassionate and patient approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
