A Teaching Assistant (TA) is required in Winton to support students in a one-to-one setting!

Location: Winton
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a committed and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join schools in Winton. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to individual students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised support strategies.
  • Support students with their academic work, including literacy, numeracy, and other subjects.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement in the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teachers and support staff.
  • Offer emotional and pastoral support to help build student confidence and resilience.
  • Assist with classroom activities and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to support students’ holistic development.
  • Implement strategies to support students with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
  • Adapt teaching resources and materials to cater to individual learning requirements.

One-to-one TA Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, education or a similar field.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent.
  • A patient and caring approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
