Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join schools in Ringwood.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will support students with diverse learning needs, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. You will work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive environment and deliver tailored support, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Special Needs TA Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Monitor and record student progress and report to the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with patience and consistency.
  • Encourage student independence and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support students' progress.

Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
