Science Teacher
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 to £50,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Easter 2025 / September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time (permanent contract will be offered to the right candidate upon successful completion of the probation period)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire. This exciting opportunity is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with the school offering exceptional support for NQTs to help you thrive in your career.

As a Teacher of Science, you will engage students in the fascinating world of science, delivering lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will be responsible for providing high-quality education that promotes student understanding and encourages independent learning in a safe and positive environment.

Responsibilities of a Teacher of Science:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across key stages.
  • Adapt lessons to cater to a variety of learning styles and student abilities.
  • Use assessments to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom where every student is encouraged to excel.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to create a focused and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement an effective science curriculum.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest educational research and teaching methodologies.
  • Support extracurricular activities related to science when appropriate.

Science Teacher Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a similar teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level is desirable, though ECTs are encouraged to apply.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or a related field.
  • Strong passion for science and teaching.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a love for science.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
