About the Role:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in supporting both the class teacher and the students to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the delivery of lessons, providing tailored support to individual pupils, and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities of the Primary Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons to a diverse group of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support for pupils with varying learning needs.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring that students stay focused and engaged.
- Work closely with students with specific learning needs, ensuring their progress is supported.
- Assist with the preparation of resources and maintaining a clean and organised classroom.
- Encourage and support students’ emotional and social development.
Requirements of the Primary Teaching Assistant (TA): To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A strong passion for supporting children’s academic and personal development.
- Experience working with children (ideally within a primary school environment).
- A good understanding of the primary school curriculum and the needs of children in a classroom setting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with children with varying levels of needs.
- University students looking to gain valuable experience in education are encouraged to apply.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
