Job Title: Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Wimborne, Dorset
Salary: £12.83 per hour
Start Date: Immediate/ Easter 2025 start
Contract: Full-time, permanent (part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

GSL Education are working with a welcoming and well-resourced primary mainstream school in Wimborne that is eager to appoint a Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive team. About the Role:
As a Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a pivotal role in assisting classroom teachers, providing tailored support to pupils, and fostering an inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with students who require additional assistance, ensuring they receive the encouragement and guidance needed to thrive.
Responsibilities of the Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them engage with lesson activities.
- Assist teachers in delivering creative, engaging, and interactive lessons.
- Implement targeted interventions for students who need additional academic or behavioural support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student confidence and independence.
- Support pupils with mild SEN needs and adapt learning strategies to suit their individual requirements.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies, promoting a respectful and focused classroom.
- Help prepare learning materials and assist with administrative tasks as required.
Requirements of the Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
- A strong understanding of primary education and child development.
- Knowledge of different learning styles and SEN support strategies is desirable.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), speech and language difficulties, or behavioural challenges would be beneficial.
- A strong academic background and a passion for helping children succeed.
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners in an educational setting.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow school policies.
- University students looking to gain hands-on experience in education are encouraged to apply.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
