Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £12.83 per hour
Start Date: Immediate/ Easter 2025
Contract: Full-time, permanent (part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

About the Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students within the classroom. You will work closely with individuals and small groups, helping to ensure that all students receive the guidance they need to succeed academically and personally.
Responsibilities of the Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them with their learning and development.
- Providing targeted support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
- Helping to create an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties, encouraging confidence and participation.
- Assisting with classroom management and ensuring a safe and supportive learning space.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support student progress.
- Providing mentoring and pastoral care to students who may need additional guidance.
Requirements of the Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA):
- A strong interest in working with young people and supporting their education.
- Previous experience in a school or youth work setting is beneficial but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a school environment.
- University students considering a career in teaching or education are highly encouraged to apply.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
