Cover Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £125 – £165 per day
Start Date: ASAP
GSL Education are currently seeking experienced Cover Teachers for client secondary schools in York, North Yorkshire. The role involves delivering pre-planned lessons to students in the absence of permanent teaching staff. Key Responsibilities as a Cover Teacher:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons to students across various subjects.
- Maintaining classroom discipline and ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Following school policies and procedures while adapting to different teaching settings.
- Supporting students in their learning and development, ensuring engagement with the lesson material.
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively and ensuring all students remain on task.
As the ideal Cover Teacher, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent qualification. We encourage Early Career Teachers (ECT) to apply for the role!
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt to different environments.
- Good subject knowledge across the secondary curriculum, with the ability to cover a range of subjects.
- An enthusiastic, professional, and flexible approach to teaching.
- Experience in a classroom setting within the last two years (training placements for completing induction are acceptable)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education or externally.
