Design and Technology (DT) and Engineering Teacher
Location: Maidstone
Salary: £120 - £250 per day
Start Date: Term 5 (April 2025)
Contract Type: Full-time (Terms 5 and 6)

Are you an experienced Design and Technology (DT) and Engineering Teacher with a passion for inspiring students and a commitment to safety? GSL Education Kent are seeking a dedicated DT and Engineering Teacher to join a dynamic school in Maidstone for Terms 5 and 6. The successful candidate must possess a valid Health and Safety Certificate to operate machinery and will be responsible for planning and marking.

The school is a large mixed secondary institution with a vibrant Sixth Form and an arts-rich environment. The school boasts enviable indoor and outdoor facilities, including a state-of-the-art Sports Hall. There is a strong co-curricular programme, providing students with opportunities beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Design and Technology (DT) and Engineering lessons to students up to Key Stage 5.
  • Plan and mark student work, ensuring a balanced and supportive approach to teaching.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize your Health and Safety Certificate to operate and supervise the use of machinery safely.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the DT and Engineering curriculum.
  • Provide high-quality feedback to support student progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience as a DT and Engineering Teacher, ideally within a UK school setting.
  • Valid Health and Safety Certificate for operating machinery.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
  • A proactive approach to planning, marking, and delivering lessons.
