GSL Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) in Andover to provide tailored support to students in a primary or secondary school setting. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong commitment to education, a nurturing approach, and the ability to assist students in achieving their full potential.

Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide academic and pastoral support to students. You will assist in the delivery of lessons, help manage classroom activities, and ensure that all pupils receive the guidance they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning resources for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Support students in developing literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and support staff.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a structured and focused learning atmosphere.
- Offer emotional and pastoral support to students, building strong, trusting relationships.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, following school safeguarding policies and procedures.
Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, or in a similar role is advantageous.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude, with a strong ability to engage and motivate students.
- An understanding of child development, behaviour management strategies, and the UK education system.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, working effectively alongside teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Experience supporting students with SEN, Autism, ADHD, or other learning difficulties is beneficial.
- A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
