Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Waterlooville
Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
 

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role?

If so, GSL Education needs a supportive and patient SEN TA to work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing school environment in Waterlooville.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist in classroom activities, ensuring students are engaged and supported.
  • Implement individual learning plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with communication, social, and behavioural development.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver targeted support.
  • Promote independence and confidence in students.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working withSEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
