£12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education seeks a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Andover. Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and key life skills.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and encourage positive learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to ensure student progress.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
