SEN TA - Southampton, Hampshire
Do you have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
GSL Education needs a caring full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire. This role offers a competitive salary between £21,000 - £25,000 per year (dependent on experience) with a start date ASAP or from Easter 2025. You will be working within the school's specialist resource base, providing support to students with Autism and Learning Difficulties. A permanent contract is available after a probation period, with opportunities to progress through the pay grades as you gain experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tailored 1:1 and group support for students with Autism and Learning Difficulties.
- Encouraging independence and social development in a structured setting.
- Assisting with daily activities, classroom tasks, and sensory needs.
- Implementing personalised learning plans under the guidance of teachers and SEN specialists.
- Helping to create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting).
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to different student needs and learning styles.
- A desire to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
