Job Title: SEN Support Assistant
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £12.82 - £12.83 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: April 2025 or Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

GSL Education are looking for a SEN Support Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them succeed in a mainstream classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
- Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and learning plans.
- Encourage and motivate students to engage in their studies and reach their potential.
- Support students in building social and emotional skills within the classroom.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to implement support strategies.
- Help create an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A passion for working with young people, especially those with SEN.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to supporting students.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply—full training and support will be provided.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
