Job Title: Primary Class Teacher
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: Easter 2025 start
Contract type: Full-time, permanent (part-time can be arranged for the right candidate)

GSL Education are looking for a Primary Class Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Bournemouth, Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher (QTS) or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to work in a well-resourced and inclusive school setting where every child’s development is prioritised.

Role Overview:

As a Primary Class Teacher, you will take on the responsibility of delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, ensuring that all pupils receive a high standard of education tailored to their individual learning needs. You will be expected to create engaging lesson plans, assess progress effectively, and provide a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment where students feel supported in their academic and personal growth.

Primary Class Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons following the National Curriculum.
  • Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress, providing regular feedback to support their development.
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress and achievements.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a supportive and structured learning environment.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the school community by upholding its values, ethos, and commitment to high educational standards.

Primary Class Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) certification.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • A passionate and creative approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire and engage young learners.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, working effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
